What
is Cosmofin?
COSMOFIN (previously known
as Delifol) is a high-polymer, soft PVC membrane
system manufactured in Germany. The sheet edges
are closed - without capilliaries. The membrane
is 1.5 mm thick and the standard colour is light
grey.
COSMOFIN membrane is manufactured by extrusion,
not by the calandar method. This production method
is critical to reducing short and long term shrinkage.

All recommended laying methods incorporate Cosmofin Steel, Terostat Fixband or Terokal Alufixband for positive and efficient terminations.
System Components
COSMOFIN FG
The standard reinforced Cosmofin membrane, 1.5
mm thick, light grey, with the side edges sealed
beyond the reinforcement. The rolls are 1.1 metres
wide x 20 metres long. COSMOFIN FG is reinforced
with polyester fibre - set diagonally so that the
membrane retains structural elasticity.
COSMOFIN GGV : GGV is Cosmofin FG backed with
polyester fleece. Can be laid over bitumen. Can
be used together with Terokal 325 to give a bonded
membrane to most surfaces.
COSMOFIN F
Unreinforced membrane, 1.5 mm thick. This is
used for detailing and closer strips. The rolls
are 1100 mm wide x 20 metres long. Can be used for expansion joints.
THF (tetrahydrafurane)
Welding solvent
COSMOFIN LIQUID
Used to seal laps where reinforcement ends are
exposed. It is supplied in 0.85kg tins.
COSMOFINSTEEL PROFILES
Standard profiles (see Installation) are available
from stock, used for mechanically fixed terminations
and fixing at the bases of upstands. Other profiles
are available to special order.
BONDING ADHESIVE
Use Terokal 325 with GGV or Terokal 914 with
FG.
TEROSTAT FIXBAND :120mm wide self- adhesive tape
used to seal Cosmofin to wall where render to be
applied over.
TEROKAL ALUFIXBAND :120mm wide self-adhesive
tape used to seal Cosmofin to the wall. Should only
used in balcony or garden bed or small terrace situations.
To be used in conjunction with Terokal 914 adhesive. When used in conjunction with Terokal 325 can also be used to bond Cosmofin to steel, copper and glass.
TEROKAL 325 :The adhesive to bond Cosmofin GGV
to almost any substrate.
