Projex Group introduces the new Sub Ballast Mat to the railways industry. Projex Damtec Sub Ballast Mat System (SBM) is one of the most effective methods of reducing vibration transmission on ballasted tracks.
When installed under ballast, the SBM isolates the track structure from the supporting foundation or substrate, and attenuates the transmission of the noise and of course the vibration itself.

The SBM also extends the life of the ballast by reducing the “grinding effect” of the ballast upon the substrate. This reduces the need for periodic replacement of the ballast.

The Sub Ballast Mat is designed to give the optimum static and dynamic properties for use with main line, urban, light rail and metro axle loads. It is proven to give reliable performance over a very long service life under any climatic conditions. SBM also assists in maintaining the level and position of the track.

This outstanding ballast matting is regularly used alongside vibration sensitive buildings and residences adjacent to railways. It is is environment-friendly and made from recycled rubber.

Projex Group wish to remind the waterproofing applicators the great utility of the Wolfinator.

Wolfinator is the ideal adhesive solution! It is use for the economical and efficient bonding of building materials indoors and outdoors and for sealing connection joints.

Wolfinator is manufactured using special polymers, which to adheres to absorbent and non-absorbent materials, without any primer including material such as glass, stainless steel and aluminum. This universal adhesive can overcome common problems associated with roofing, aluminum fabrications, sheet metal works and plumbing.

Wolfin Membranes Australia (WMA) was engaged by a diagnostics company to engineer a waterproof system which included some very unusual detailing requirements including terminating the membrane against the glass curtain wall.

“This would not have been possible until the introduction of WOLFINATOR. Wolfinsteel termination angles were fixed directly onto the glass using the Wolfinator adhesive allowing the membrane to span over the entire roof surface & also provide total waterproofing to the structure”, mentioned Michael Herder, Operations Manager, Projex Group.

There’s little known about Wolfin besides its function- to keep moisture out or contained- and itsreliability when it comes to performing this function. But there is much more to this waterproofing membrane than what it does. What it is and the features it possesses are even more interesting.

What is Wolfin?

Wolfin is a flexible thermoplastic roofing and waterproofing membrane that is manufactured in Germany, but has been used in Australia for over three decades now. It is recyclable, UV stable and can be used for a variety of projects with numerous materials. Due to its composition, it is highly suited for numerous waterproofing projects, and exceeds standard requirements for resistance.

Benefits of Wolfin

Wolfin can be applied on practically any surface- concrete, masonry blocks, steel, CFC, timber, and many others. Wolfin membranes are flexible when it comes to application, but prove highly resistant to many common irritants. They also remain resilient in extreme temperatures and conditions. Other benefits of Wolfin include:

• Resistance to chemicals – Wolfin is highly resistant to chemicals such as sulphuric acid, lactic acid, kerosene, oils and fats.
• Resistance to bitumen – asphalt and bitumen from shoes, dust, emissions from factories, power stations and cars have no effect on Wolfin membranes.
• Resistance to microbes and red algae – because of its special formulation, Wolfin needs no anti-microbial finish but effectively repels microbes. It is also resistant to red algae, making it ideal for roofs that come in constant contact with moisture.
• Resistance to plant roots – Wolfin has been tested and proven resistant to plant root penetration, making it perfect for garden and planter boxes.
• High water vapour diffusion permeability – Wolfin’s dark colour and composition allows roof layers to heat up rapidly, causing high vapour pressure and eventually drying out trapped moisture. Wolfin has been scientifically proven to have the highest vapour diffusion permeability.
• Entirely homogenous – Wolfin is entirely homogenous- it contains no fillers, plasticizers or other water-soluble materials. It also contains no added flame retardants. Because of this, it has proven to be very resistant to ageing, its physical values remaining the same even after years and years.
• Consistent properties all year round – no other formulation, finish or installation method is required for different seasons. With Wolfin, it all remains the same and its effectivity stays consistent as well.

Uses of Wolfin

Wolfin can be used in a number of waterproofing projects, including roofs, decks, balconies, gutters, tunnel walls, bunkers, basements, fountains, sewage tanks, planter boxes and many more.

The New Wolfin Universal Pins: Fastens Directly to the Waterproofing Membrane without Causing Damages

	Projex Group introduce the Wolfin Universal Pins to the Australian waterproofing market. Wolfin Universal Pins are the solution for fastening items directly to the Wolfin Membrane without piercing the membrane itself.
	The pin has an 80mm diameter base plate, which is made of Wolfin membrane (with a protruding 25mm vertical threaded bar and locking nuts) and can be welded directly to any Wolfin membrane system. The Wolfin Universal Pins can be used to secure ballast retainer angles (shown on right), lightning rods, TV aerial lines, cables or a variety of other accessories.
